It's not just that it's light. Shinedown has had amazing rock ballads. Even some of the last album that was less "hey we wrote a kickass soft song" and more "let's crank out more songs like Second Chance because it smashed" grew on me. But that's not what this new album is. It's just plain pop. Guitar, drums, and bass are an afterthought for most of the songs that are built around production, piano and synth. I'm not trying to dig at you if that's what you like to listen to, but I sure as **** don't, and this isn't the same band that put out Leave a Whisper and The Sound of Madness. Maybe it's time to go look at Fuel, which last I saw is where Jasin and Brad ended up after the split.
