On the contrary actually. vBulletin that was used prior to SMF had managed to corrupt itself so badly that not even database repairs would bring it on its feet. SMF database conversion process however found and restored lots of previously lost data. The only post-SMF conversion occurrence that I can remember where posts may have lost was the failed April Fool's joke.
