Valve has already responded that the company is not for sale. However, that does not mean Valve won't sell Steam platform and services to Google, which I think would be much more logical acquisition.

Not for sale doesn't exclude hostile takeover.   Google probably has the bucks to do it. 
No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras
