A Total-Conversion is a standalone project. There can be standalone projects within the FS universe.

as long as your campaign rsts in the fso universe it is a mod a camaign not a total convrsion

I thought total conversions were the ones like the WCS or TBP when no FreeSpace ships are ever used, because it's a separate universe.

I wouldn't qualify BP as a total conversion, because it's still FreeSpace.

They still use FreeSpace style interfaces. WCS is working on changing that though.

BP is a campaign using mods from Stratcomm, Aldo and a few others. That's pretty much it
