Very nice pieces, everyone! Say, that gives me an idea...

Should we start a render gallery which has just people's first renders in it? It would sure be interesting...

It'd be interesting, but how many of the hot-shot renderers would be willing to put their first and probably worst piece of work, which they're more embarassed rather than proud of, on open display? With a tag saying 'my first render'?

(I would, but then I'm neither a hot-shot renderer, or anyone who's progressed too far, having only done two...)

Hm, I'd have to digf REAL deep for that. Say, files from, like, 12 or 13 years ago, that are recorded in audio cassetes.

Now, for my first 3D render, I'd just have to dig some 8 years.

Add some lightning effect around the delta, and some more detail - maybe something like a nebula - on the background. And move the delta and the letters away from the center, making sort of a shadow of them. Would look cooler.

Uses a combination of plug-ins. (Yes, I realize that the shadow on the smaller planet is off, sue me.

The atmosphere and the clouds on the larger planet are too hard. Other than that, it's looking good (well, I'm not taking into account the persistance of lighting, since you already mentioned it

).
