Hello,
because I'm from Germany I don't understand English so good.
Is there a way to change the language of the fsport to German?

There are the original FS1 VPs, I know FS2 was in German, don't know about FS1. Maybe someone may have a copy of those you could use. Just replace the ones in your FSPort folder.

If you have the German version of FS1, play it. I'd guess that  the FSPort people didn't include (or even have) the German versions of the missions to FSPort.

If I want to have better graphics I play psport. I thought I only have to change the voice folder in "stu_fsport.vp" but it didn't work and this massage came:
"strings.tbl is corrupt"

FS1 string tables are in a different format and unreadable in FS2. There is no German translation of FSPort. You can either play FS1 in German or bone up on your English and play FSPort. There aren't any German speakers as far as I know on the FSPort team, and a translation would be a huge undertaking that would not benefit very many people.

Correct.  Localization wasn't supported very well in FS1; I'm pretty sure all the changes were hard-coded.  FS2 support is much better.

If someone could supply us with the German translations, we could probably add localization support to the next FSPort release.

Die Übersetzung von FS1 ins Deutsche is eher schlecht (zB "Leutnant A(r)sh" und "warpen"). Ich würd dir wirklich empfehlen dein englisch etwas aufzupolieren und das ganze dann auch in englisch zu spielen.

For those not speaking german, I just recomended him to rather improve his english and then play in that language, because of the poor translation done on FS1.

If someone from the team really wants to make a german translation, I could provide the files. But since I have no webspace it would have to be sent over ICQ (I have pretty good max. uploadspeed so it shouldn't take long).

So, FS1 had no TStrings.tbl? I mean, we could definitely localize FSPort using the FS2 techniques, but without a table of every string and their translation, it would be virtually impossible.

Not impossible, just very, very tedious. :)  We'd have to generate our own tstrings.tbl and then give it to somebody with the German version of FS1, who would then match up every German string to every English string...

Still, if you've played through the game in German, then you know what they're saying, right?

Wait, I just realized something. You could copy over all the voices from FS1, and assuming they have the same filenames, you'll be in business. :)

You mean extract the sound files (ogg, wav, mp3 or whatever format they are) out of the vp file and then place them in the ..\fs_port\data\voice folder, right?

Can the FS2 vp tools handle FS1 vp files too (I got Maja and VPMage here in my PC)?

Someone tell us what the FS1 voice VP is called, so we can instruct JW here to copy that over to his FSPort directory.
