Well there was a GTD Myrmidon and the GTF Myrmidon... so things can be interchanged a bit sometimes.

In keeping with naming the bulk of shivan craft after hindu deities. The name shivan could be seen as being taken from Shiva the god of destruction. :P

The majority of Shivan craft are named after demons and monsters (or deities of civilizations that were rivals to the Israelites and thus twisted by Judeo-Christian religion into demons and monsters), not Hindu deities.
