Voiceacting efforts for Ransom Arceihn's
Transcend campaign are now under way. If you wish to submit samples of your voice talent, you can post them here or send them to either me or Ransom. Either way will suffice, so long as we receive it.
Ransom's refined the script to better suit the vocal talent that will be breathing new life into it, but the lines are the only part that's really changed. The plot still runs the same as the original. Major roles will be given individual descriptions below, while we'll have you audition for vocal templates in regards to minor roles. From your performance, I'll choose the role that I believe best suits you.
The list below is broken down by character, featuring a brief description of each one. Beneath each of these descriptions are a bulleted list.
This list shows the specific lines for each audition. If you're auditioning and want to stand a better chance at being considered, have your samples cover all of the listed lines. Give all of your samples the following format to make sorting them out easier for us:

The major roles are as follows...
Sunder Marcel - Male, 30's-40's. No accent, but this character is usually the quiet type, so try to keep his voice soft, but clear. Sunder Marcel is a local security officer who's been press-ganged into the ranks of 103rd Shadow Guardians, but he previously worked as a mercenary, and that side of him plays an increasing role in his decisions.
- "It's strange, isn't it? The way the human mind adapts to situations. Something absurd one minute is perfectly acceptable the next. You don't keep track of it, though. Your mind just quietly wraps itself around the offending issue and before you know it you don't even think about it any more... Like the first time you watch someone die."
- "The Varcent and Raven's going to guess where we're going. I don't know how long we'll be able to wait around for the Chondral if they show up."
- "Whenever we're here, I start seeing things. Ships moving in the nebula. But they're strange. And they move . . . impossibly."
- "Make for the node. We must reach Vega."
Daniel Korgan - Male, 30's-50's. American accent, no particular region required. Daniel Korgan is the wing leader of the 103rd and is the seasoned combat veteran of the squadron. He's very experienced and still knows how to lead and how to fight, but his age is starting to catch up with him.
- "It's time things were explained. My name is Daniel Korgan, and this wing of mine we call the Shadow Guardians. After the Great War, the 103rd was largely disbanded, yes -- all standard deployments were halted, and most newcomers were shifted to different outfits. We were an elite squadron, as you ought to know, Sunder. We flew the hard runs. Mixed with the GTI in its heyday, well before they went sour, and more than once brushed shoulders with the SOC after that. So they took us off the books. Gave us a choice: leave and be nobodies, stay and cease to exist. No guesses as to which I picked."
- "Smart decisions, Marcel. Not always the right ones. We'll settle with these guys later, but for now our survival's what's important."
- "Generation, the only thing we're running from is your obsession! We've no understanding of the things you've seen. Believe me, that's something we aim to change. This hunting of us serves nobody."
Mark Davies - Male, 20's-40's. Mark Davies is usually the archetypal pilot of the group, easy-going and often cocky, but also with a loose temper. The disappearances and anomalies soon spark fear and superstition within him.
- "Like I said, don't take it too personally. The guy you replaced, Joseph Chassil -- he was a good friend of hers. From before she joined the 103rd."
- "Just what are we going to spend it on, you idiot? We have a bloody corvette on our ass! We're wanted criminals!"
- "This is messed up. This is all -- Jesus Christ, what the hell is happening here? Phantom subspace signatures, disappearing cargo . . . not to mention whatever happened to Generation's ships."
Samantha Rikas - Female, 20's-40's. Samantha Rikas is bitter and moody, which often translates to brash decisions on her part. As the entire universe begins to tear at the seams, her cold attitude disappears and is replaced only by doubt and uncertainty.
- "I don't think so, Marcel. I think you're giving him too much credit. These guys are bold and complacent -- he'll think we've been paid off."
- "I don't know, all right? Maybe we were out for longer than it seemed. Maybe it tore up some ships worse than others. If you've got a better theory, I'm all ears."
- "You know, I never found out how Joseph died. Daniel never told me. And I didn't press him -- I guess I didn't really want to know. He just never checked back one day. He'd been undercover. We all assumed the worst. I thought Daniel's silence meant Jo had tried to leave. But now . . ."
Karl Sinclair - Male, 30's-50's. Karl Sinclair both highly intelligent and highly insufferable, with little patience for those who stand in the way of his profits. Even when he helps the 103rd by accompanying them into the nebula, his helpful assistance is likely motivated by how much he could earn from that venture.
- "For God's sake! It took me months to get my hands on those converters! What are you doing, pilots?"
- "You waste your time, Omicron. I've seen that look on many a face. It's the glint in the eye of a trader convinced of the profit in some hopeless venture -- in the customer who believes you to be swindling them even when you are not."
- "You need to look at it from his perspective. He’s been unjustly accused of something he doesn’t even understand. He needs someone to blame. That’s you, naturally. And now he’s in too deep. Either he catches you and justifies his actions, or his career is over. A mental event horizon. If you’re to be believed, this is all a misunderstanding. But it’s one that will destroy this man. Perhaps it already has."
The GTCv Generation - Male, 30's-50's. The Captain of the GTCv Generation is an honest and good man pulled into events beyond his control, and when many of his fellow craft disappear in an instant, he's driven into insanity. His sense of justice becomes twisted and the only thing he cares for afterwards is seeing Omicron wing receive justice, regardless of the consequences.
- "I knew men aboard the Raven. The crew of three cruisers, and how many pilots? Hundreds murdered. I will never understand your kind. This is senseless, and it stops here."
- "I. . . all ships, retreat! I'm aborting this mission. Evacuate the area immediately!"
- "To what? What are you going to do, Vasudan? Xi wing, target Omicron's engines! I need one of them alive!"
- "No. You don't understand what you're doing. This is not over, Omicron!I will find you again. Justice will be done."
The Silent Eye - Male, 30's-50's. The Silent Eye watches over what's left of the 103rd Shadow Guardians, but he increasingly views it as a liability rather than an asset. He's always wary of their decisions, speaks to them tersely, and treats them harshly when they get into trouble. When he decides that they need to be put down, his calmness is chilling.
- "It'll be done, then. But keep in mind this is all you get. My resources are not limitless, and I'll remind you you're in no position to be careless. Good day to you, Omicron."
- "I don't care who the Raven and Varcent were working for. The fact is as far as the public's aware they were patriots. Killing them does nothing but draw attention to yourselves and by doing so you've stirred up hell. I should turn you in. It would certainly save me a lot of trouble."
- "The Shadow Guardians are dead. A shame. Your journey ends here, pilots."
Saya Khoseh - Female, 20's-40's. The Transcendant's lone prophet, she speaks as if in a trance, poetic and enigmatic. As she leads her flock to the moment of absolution, her true emotions are noticeable, but she remains unwavering until the very end.
- "So you seek the Transcendant, then. The outsider."
- "He is . . . disconnected. This universe is a warm light he remembers but is unable to grasp. It is impossible to say how long he has searched for some weakness through which to return. What use is time to a being that exists outside it?"
- "This is the end. It is the end of all things -- and everything ends in Aldebaran. We make our final pilgrimage. You make it too, though you won't admit it."
As for the minor roles, the templates are listed below.
Terran Male
- "Pretty sure it's an empty threat. He paid for safe passage, and unless he has an aneurism from losing all that cargo I think we're in the clear."
- "You're welcome, Gamma. Any other time you feel compelled to delay our shipment we would be happy to oblige."
- "Mayday! Mayday! This is the Raven. We are under concentrated attack from pirate fighters! They've already destroyed the GTC Varcent!"
- "I'm a man who deals in chance, Omicron. I keep on the edge of the spotlight and that's how I stay unseen. The longer you tail me, the higher the odds are that I get caught, and I don't like having the odds against me."
- "My entire wing's vanished! Generation, what the hell is going on here?"
Terran Female
- "What on Earth are you doing? This vessel is unarmed!"
- "Command, we have confirmation on the node. Reports indicate a class B, phasing. Nothing larger than a vessel of cruiser size."
- "All craft, engage the Generation! He must be stopped!"
- ". . . Meet at these co-ordinates in Vega. There’ll be a gathering there at 2100. The last."
- "Generation, power down immediately and prepare to be boarded. This is your final warning. Ignore it and be destroyed."
Vasudan
- "Attention, Chondral. Our records indicate your escort is wanted for piracy charges."
- "We have arrived, Esyel. Moving to engage the renegades."
- "All hands evacuate! Power surge -- systems inoperative! Reactor containment --"
- "You stand by and allow Vasudan civilians to be murdered. You pull Sandre from the node. And despite all the forces we have brought to bear these pilots continue to evade our grasp."
- "Do you take me for a fool? The Parliament will survive this alliance, just as they have survived all else. Vasuda may be lost, but her spirit is strong!"
