Aha! It entered the mission with all graphical command lines turned off and mediaVps. I then tried it with the media vps enabled but no command lines turned on and it worked again. I'm no expert but wouldn't a graphical error give me a message of what was wrong instead of hanging it like that?

One would think. Try enabling single command line flags one at a time to see what it is that's doing it.

I've run through the list and the culprit is the command line environment maps - all the others that are recommended in the installation tutorial run fine! I don't know why that's creating such a problem but thanks a million for finding it! :yes: :yes: :yes:
