Duplicating Pilots?
Every time I start the game (after FSO installed), my pilot has been duplicated and it keeps prompting to convert to FSO, which I do every time. What's the deal?

Is your game installed to Program Files?  Also this should be moved to Support at least until it's determined to be a bug.

Re: Duplicating Pilots?
Agreed on the move to support.

bstarnes, could you please give us a bit more info about your system setup? Which Operating System are you using?

Also, please read the Support FAQ and follow the steps to generate an fs2_open.log.

Re: Duplicating Pilots?
Yes, I got the FS2 from GOG.com, and it put it under my C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com. So I should just move the files to another directory? I'm using Vista 64 bit.
I ran the fs2_open_3_6_10_debug, but a fs2_open.log doesn't look like its been created.

Re: Duplicating Pilots?
Actually, it was created, just not where you thought it would be.

Please go to the data folder in the FS2 directory. Under the explorer's location field, you'll see a button marked "Compatibility files" appear. Press on it, and it will take you to the place where Windows put the log file.

Re: Duplicating Pilots?
Right, the way I see it, there are several ways to go from here.

One, (and this is the preferred way), move the FS2 directory to somewhere that is not C:\Program Files\.
Two, delete the data\players directory in C:\Program Files\<path to FS2>\

Re: Duplicating Pilots?
Solved... moving it out of the Program Files directory fixed it, although it did reset my pilot data. Should have saved it beforehand I guess lol   :ick:
Thanks for the help.
