yay jumping spiders, they're pretty cool, especially since if you get one on your hand they've got a propensity to look directly at you.

Daddy long legs aren't spiders! They have wings, which curiously that one you are displaying hasn't!

I'm sure I heard once that the Crane Fly aka Daddy Long Legs have enough venom in the to kill a city block, they just lack the delivery mechanism, FANGS!!

Yup, the UK 'Daddy Long-Legs' is in fact a fly :) But I seem to recall the poison thing is an urban myth, their poison isn't all that strong in reality.

It is a myth that the cellar spider, crane fly, and/or harvestman is venemous. http://www.snopes.com/critters/wild/longlegs.asp

Here in the western US, generally daddy longlegs refers to the cellar spider.
