Help with mapping in 3d max
I have just modelled a dalek ship in 3d max an i am struggling on applying textures to it, as i have only just started to use the program. I am slowly learning it, but i could do with a few pointers please.

here is the model

In this pic the area that is marked in red is where i want to apply the texture in the corner of the image

What would be the best way to do this please?

if there is any consistancy with the Shivans, it's their lack of consistancy - -Norbert-

I would use a Multi-Subobject material. You can follow this tutorial to see how it works. It allows you to apply different materials to the same object.

Now if you wanted it to have decent UV mapping, that's something else entirely.
