If you've been around the Freespace Upgrade Project Forums, you may have noticed that I have recently begun an attempt to get Ragingloli's Hatty up and running.
Loooooooooooooooooooong story short, Ive made progress, but have now hit a snag. The snag is that FSO crashes when ever the Hatty is loaded under certain cirumstances.
If I export the Hatty from Blender (detail0-3, debris, and turrets) but do NOT use and edgesplit modifier on detail0, I can load and convert .dae with no issues. It will display find in PCS2. When I go to load the model in the tech room, it takes nearly 6 minutes, but the model does load with no obvious errors.

HOWEVER, if I use the edgesplit on detail0 with all other variables remaining the same, once I attempt to load the Hatty in the techroom, FSO will hang, the music will drop, and after waiting 30-40 minutes and clicking, FSO stops responding.

Now edgesplit also causes a lot of Non-manifold areas, however in the past this has caused no problems with other models, and keep in mind that there are still non-manifold areas on the non-edgesplit version that managed to load just fine.

It should be noted that I made sure no previous versions of an .IBX existed, going to the extent of removing them from the mediavp file so FSO would be forced to create new ones. what is troubling is that it claims it 'found' an invalid .IBX, however I've confirmed that there are no .IBX's for the capital2V-01 to be found. Thinking that the creation of the IBX or TSB may be the reason for the crash, I disabled cacheing in the launcher and proceeded to have an identicle crash, but with this log:

My system is an Intel Q9550 at 2.83Ghz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 (1792MB), 4G of RAM on Windows7 64-bit.
