Does it matter?
It's a design made by  and therefore, it's canonical. You cannot do anything about it.
Other Vasudan architecture should have similarites to it in interior design, no matter what you think about it making sense or not.
Vasudan mainhall is designed quite well for something that's in space, so ground structure interiors of course won't be identical to it, but they should have something in common with it.

Presumably the single-fighter launch sled, weird spires that move to reveal crystals that are also the ready room, nautilus-style shells on brackets that are apparently barracks of some sort, and Vasudans in translucent bubbles?

Biggest issue I recall with it. Now to land on the Psamtik, you need to fly the traffic pattern and peel off one by one. At least it'd be faster if you could fly a buzz and break.

Nah, Ery is too fragile for that. Ares seems better for the job. At least it can take a couple of hit, and the VIP isn't supposed to know how to use all the agility an Ulysses have anyway.
