Hello everyone, I'm new here

Right now I'm playing Freespace 1 campaign with FS2Open 3.6.10 and MediaVPs and I'm going to play FS2 campaign soon.
I know there's latest 3.6.12 version but I'm too lazy to download and install everything again right now

I have one question regarding Sun glows and flashing - it is possible to completely disable it?
When I'm playing missions and performing combat sun's are blinding me hard.
I know this effect adds some 'immersion' to gameplay but unfortunatelly my eyes aren't very healthy nowadays and just hurts after 10 minutes of fighting and seeing flashing surface of sun.
Right now I'm just trying not to 'look' at suns ingame, but I'm just curious if it is possible to completely disable sun glow and flashing.

Umm, wouldn't it work with a *-str.tbm that adds $NoGlare: to every star bitmap? Or doesn't it work like that for stars?

Hm, so what I should do exactly to disable sun glare?
Which files I should modify?
I'm asking coz I've never modified anything in FS2 files and I don't wanna mess something up

Download attached tbm file to your FreeSpace2\mediavps_3612\data\tables folder, create folders if they don't exist. This disables Sun glares. Note that this will not affect suns that are added by mods or future mediavps updates.

If you don't yet have the latest mediavps, I think the tbm also works with 3.6.10, in which case replace mediavps_3612 with mediavps. With quick glance FSPort doesn't seem to add any suns, so this tbm should work with FSPort as well.
