Well, we're working on getting a lot of stuff done before the end of the year - but you shouldn't get your hopes up for a Christmas release. The only thing that could come out at Christmas would be a horrible rushjob that wouldn't be much fun to play. My personal hope is that we'll be ready in early 2011 but please understand that's not exactly an "official" eta in any shape of form.
There should be some pretty cool updates by Christmas, however.

cool man, cool. I really wasn't expecting this gem to be out by Xmas. I imagine the first release is always the toughest because you essentially have to do EVERYTHING. Subsequent releases may be a bit better because a lot of the assests are already in place and you're essentially just moving stuff around (and adding here and there). In the meantime I try my best not to sit on the forums waiting for new info... but that new trailer totally killed me!
