Ah, so my problem is that I recently re-installed so I don't have 3.6.10.
So far, I haven't had a problem with ST:R using 3.6.12.  Can't confirm it works 100 % till I have finished it though.

It's worth noting that when ST:R originally came out, the mediavps were in the "mediavps" folder, and the mod.ini worked correctly.
