Good afternoon everyone,

I was a long time fan of wing commander and I recently discovered the wonderful world of fs2 open.  I would like to give a big thank you to all moders, designers etc... You have made some long time nerd dreams of mine reality  .  At the moment I am going through the FS1port and intend to hit both expansions plus, fs2 and blue planet: AoA.  I am wondering though if any other mods would be considered a must play?  I'm sure this question has been asked multiple times so I appologise in advance for the redundancy.

The order and continuity I go with is FSPort, Silent Threat: Reborn, FS2, Derelict, BP:AoA, BP:WiH.

Also check out Vassago's Dirge, Transcend, and Wings of Dawn.

So Derelict comes before BP?  I will look at that for sure before I hit BP:AoA.

It was my understanding that BP: WiH was unfinished?

Play the Cardinal Spear ported to FSPort; I loved that one for its novel weapons.

Derelict is set before BP:AoA, but they are not in the same continuity.
BP: WIH part 1 is released and well worth a playthrough (understatement), part 2 is in the works.

As for campaigns: What everyone else said.

This is not a good place to do PR for unreleased campaigns. It is a good place to suggest checking out Ashen Wings, though!

[Aurora Paradox]

I would like to add two more campaigns to your list.  Procyon Insurgency and Uncharted Territory.

Procyon Insurgency is a well known campaign but it is difficult to complete. 

Uncharted Territory is a short mini story campaign that takes place during the Capella Era in Nebula beyond Gamma Draconis.  Its well worth a play through.  The campaign also has two different endings.

The trick is to pace yourself.  You have years and years' worth of entertainment.  Just don't go overboard.    And, if your wife plays games, see if you can get her hooked, too.

That's where you go after you have a bunch of names, ctrl+f, and find the release thread/download, and read the comments.
