There are nearly 300 unused images on the Wiki. Most of these images became unused when they were replaced by another image, except the uploader forgot to delete the original pic. Some may be images that someone uploaded, but did not insert into an article. If you find some images that you uploaded, but forgot to insert into an article, please do so quickly. I will gradually get rid of all unused images.

Roger, I'll be more careful from now on. Some of those pics seem to date from waaaaaaaay before I was even part of the community though, let alone started working on the wiki But yeah, heads-up registered.

EDIT: do we actually have rights to delete pics ? I don't seem to be able to do it.

Just wondering, what can we as Wiki editors do about it if we're not admins? How do make sure we do not add another image that is unused?

Could someone tell BlackYoshi to actually use the images he uploads in a page, and not leave it for later?

Also, randomly, if people could stop uploading crappy jpg, that'd be great. Because someone will eventually come and replace em with better png pics, and you can't post a new version of a pic if the extension is different, which means creating a whole new image instead. Leading to many unused images instead of updated versions of images.

I deleted all images uploaded before September 13, the day this thread was created. There are 11 unused images now.
