Windows 2000P would be good, i've never had any trouble with it.

Windows ME sucks, that's a given of course,
and Windows XP still has some bugs... my version does anyway

stick with 2000P and you should be fine...
let us know if you encounter any more problems though

I used 98se for 2 years and it worked fine, not as good as win2kp or ( cough cough ) winXP...but i enjoyed working whit it.

I've already got RH7.1 (default boot), Win98SE and FreeBSD on one comp and I'm gonna see if I can get Win20oO on there as well. Although I'll probably have to clear everything and load 'em: 98SE, 2000, BSD, RH.

You obviously heard wrong, it's got quite a few games... i mean of course it doesn't have as many as Windows, but the good side is far better than the worse!

You don't have to be a programmer to use it... perhaps to access some of its best features, yes, but it's quite easy for the average person to use... fairly like Windows lol

And, of course, it's much, much more stable than Windows.
That's one reason many people use it for servers.

Who told you it's poor overall?  Linux is probably known to be the most stable and best overall operating system in the world!
