Hell, I paid $50 for FS2 back when Interplay re-released it as their 20th anniversary edition, but I considered it money well-spent.  Compared to that, $6 is peanuts.

I'm pretty sure I paid approx 90AUD for Freespace2 when it was initially released.  6USD from GOG is a complete bargain!

I went and bought a original retail box of FS2 from ebay, shipped it from the UK. Arrived to me completely sealed in original packaging. Which was about 10 years later...

And being the young idiot I was, I opened it, installed it. And have never touched the disks since....

I bought a copy of both through GoG just so I could install it from anywhere without needing to remember to bring the disks.

If you're very quick, you can pay $34.99 for Freespace 2 and get another 31 Interplay games completely free. You've got about a day.

Awesome offer on gog, but not for me. I don't think I'd get round to playing all those games, not to mention the amount of custom stuff/patches I'd have to download to get the games running nicely.

Fortunately for me I ran across the Freespace 2 Game of the Year addition on the discount rack over a decade ago. Best $15 I ever spent.

Hell, I bought a copy of the GOG version just to be able to compare it to all the other versions I already had, and find out how its installer worked

I bought GOG copies of the Descent and FS series during one of their Interplay sales.  Never hurts to have a backup digital copy.
