I'd say that the reboot was an acceptable movie.  Nemesis was terrible, and Insurrection was... forgettable.  But before that?  First Contact was ****ing awesome.

Movie Trek felt dead after The Undiscovered Country. ST1, the one which shall not be named, and all Next Generation except First Contact felt they were done for the sake of getting movie Trek money.

I believe the thinking is: Star Trek The Motion Picture was slow, and dull. Seems like a 50 minutes episode (a good one) stretched to fill the movie's run time. First Contact was a fun action movie with lasers and Borgs.
