stuttering & inconsistent framerate
i noticed that in my games, ive been getting huge drops in framerates no matter what settings i use.  i top out at 120 with vsync disabled, and bottom out at 8 for periods at a time, only for the framerate to jump back up to 80-120 again.  ive been noticing this while playing BP.  I am pretty sure this computer is not the problem as I have had better performance (and more consistent) on a far inferior desktop running XP w/ 2gigs of ram.  it doesn't make sense to me on how my old desktop ran it with ease, though frames didnt reach as high as 120, it did not dip as low as 8, it was consistent.

ive cranked the settings down quite a bit as well, and the performance stays the same, nothing changes, it drops at the exact same times, and drops the exact same amount, not exactly sure whats causing it.  a fresh reinstall doesn't exactly help either.  ive been spending the better part of the day searching for a fix or probably cause but i am clueless.

im running an asus g74s laptop.  geforce gtx560 with 12gigs of ram.  i also attached my log if that points to anywhere.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try deleting the adv VPs from both Blue Planet folders and the MVPs. Also delete AnimGlows from the MVPs.

More importantly, try getting one of the experimental builds here - http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=83318.0

Once you've got it selected, go in-game, go to the options menu (F2), go to detail, and try turning down your lighting detail (right side).
