I just got the game a few days ago and was looking around and all mods directed me here, looking that the instructions i am confused on what i am supposed to do with all of the files, could someone please explain.

Here's a good set of instructions for setting up FSO in Windows.  Step 6 is about the mediavp and includes a link to the release thread, just ignore the bit about the automatic installer because its broken and the replacement isn't finished yet

If you have any questions after reading that, fire away and someone will give you some more advice.
