If the $10k thing refers to Interplay's buyout from the remains of THQ then that's a totally misleading claim.

I thought it was something like 1700$ and it was for the "residual" rights

$7500, and yes, it was for the portion of the residuals owned by Volition. I doubt that the income from them is even worth that much.
