I have tried both Mechcommander 2 (Wolfman-MC2X) and OmniTech but both have the same issue.  The menu screen shows a bunch of triangles and no words.  Also I can move the mouse and hear the cursor go over things but I can not see it or what it is highlighting.  I am including an attachment to show what I am seeing.  Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong or if I am missing some other installation that is needed.

I  have seen stuff like this before when gamers used laptops with shared graphics memory.
Is this true for your case as well?

You are correct.  I am running a Dell Latitude E6540 with the AMD Radeon HD 8790M and Intel HD Graphics 4600.  Is there a way I can fix that?

Unfortunately not; I do not use any laptops for gaming. Other users here might know because it is not an uncommon problem.
