Blah...FS2 intro was good and bad. Good because of the nice effects and such. Bad becuz of the inconsistencies. My fave of FS2...would be the supernova. And yes, FS1 had a better feeling in the intro and the hallfight was the best  But Bosch's cutscenes were very deep and more so than the Ancient cutscenes. FS1 captured way more feeling than FS2. But FS2 had more shiny effects :wtf: haha

From FS2: Collosus, Intro

And most of 'em from FS1. I did especially like the Ancients monologues.

Yea, the Anchients monolouges were cool. They may not have been as "deep" into the mind of a deranged admiral, but they told of an entire races's history. Their rise and fall in the galaxie and give insight into the true nature of the shivans as being  the great presevers as well as the destroyers.

I liked Bosch #2. He makes a lot of statements about humanity and human nature and such...

although for pure neatness in cutscenes, i like the Supernova cutscene. Massive battle, a Hoover exploding in the background, random fighters going by... and suddenly the shockwave hits.

When I got the game with my computer (hadn't played computer games for a long time) I thought "Oh my god, games got this pretty!?" and was like :eek2: for a while

But in FS2 my favorite is the death ending - it feels climatic and gives you a nice ending feeling.

although I hated the ship, they did a good job of introducing the colossus. But the FS1 intro was still the best of all of them IMO

I'm not really that keen on any FS2 cutscenes, aside from the Colossus one (with it's Mirfak / Mirfax inconsistencies).

Hallfight is the only one for me, reminds me of System Shock 2, or Starcraft.

I agree with Mad Bomber, and I regret my vote into the Supernova scene.  I liked how deep Bosch's cutscenes were, even if they weren't terribly exciting, and I definitely liked them better than the Ancients ones of FS1.

Still, despite my supernova vote, I have to go with the Colossus cutscene as my favorite.  It really makes the Col look like the End-All Be-All of ships.  I couldn't wait to take it into the nebula and start wiping out every last Shivan in the system!

I like the Colossus one cuz it's just sales promo! :D:D

Plus you see the Galatea in it!

The Bastion and the intro are also cool, but I love the Supernova!

"BUY YOUR COLOSSII TODAY!! ONLY C188,939,985 MILLION!!"

:D

But what I want to know is:

Was the inclusion of the Galatea in that cutscene a silly in-joke by :v:, or was it simply a screwup?

I'm sorry, where exactly was the Galatea in the Colossus cutscene?

She appears just after the following:

"In the mysterious nebula beyond Gamma Draconis...."

You then see the Colossus moving through space with an Orion class Destroyer clearly visible on her starboard side. You only have a second or so to look at her name, and it's not overly clear, but it says:

GTD Galatea

Cool!

I'm gonna check that out...later

I liked the Nova one the best, wicked music and cool beam fights!

I liked the Intro and Super Nova, for two reasons. The first is the flashy effects (How not? :) ), and the second (and more important) reason is the music, which was cool all the way through in the Super Nova, and great durign the monologue part of the FS2 Intro.

And what's this nonsense I'm hearing about FS1 being better than FS2? FS2 had better sound, music and graphics, the missions were better and much more immersive, and the FS1 plot was thin enough to get a paper cut from. It was still a great game, but FS2 was just plain better.
