XCOM 2. The advent administration is here.
The official site that started it all, a good marketing move:

http://www.adventfuture.org/

IGN blew it (or someone on 2k did) by revealing a trailer to public before the marketing site schedule:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/06/01/xcom-2-announced-ign-first?read&utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20(front%20page)&utm_content=1&utm_campaign=Coverstory

It's got that Apocalypse vibe, doesn't it? :D

Awww balls, the advent site now only redirects to xcom.com. I loved that hacking like effect on that site, wish they hadn't taken it out to put the new one.
Aditionally, the new one kind of makes my browser implode! (and not in a good way  :ick:)

Guess the Commander in EU must've played on Long War Ironman Impossible, with obvious results.

Was kinda looking forward to
Spoiler:
a game set after the victory in EU, with humanity now having to deal with whatever ominous threat the Uber-Ethereal warned us about.
But if it's more X-COM, I'll take it! :D

"We have now reached the point where every goon with a grievance, every bitter bigot, merely has to place the prefix, 'I know this is not politically correct, but...' in front of the usual string of insults in order to be not just safe from criticism, but actually a card, a lad, even a hero. Conversely, to talk about poverty and inequality, to draw attention to the reality that discrimination and injustice are still facts of life, is to commit the sin of political correctness. Anti-PC has become the latest cover for creeps. It is a godsend for every curmudgeon and crank, from fascists to the merely smug."

I should play the first one, I guess. Apparently, I even own it, somehow.

So, it's good, then?

Oh, very much so! Its tactical combat and base-management are deep without being overwhelmingly complex. You can build a squad of elite soldiers through firefight after firefight, mourning when your best guys are killed by RNG bad luck, but soldiering on and finally driving the aliens off Earth.

i'm skeptical, but hopeful for this, although the buff sectoids look ****ing ridiculous
I assumed it's an "uplifted" human, hence the dramatic reveal. And teeth.

Ohh, that would make sense. I just assumed it was an Ethereal without all the robes and floating... and two arms...

Re: XCOM 2. The advent administration is here.
I'm really happy to see the game's announced! It's pretty brilliant to basically reconcile all the players that never finished it. I'm hoping that the trailer is as in-engine, gameplay-like as possible. There's some technical improvements to be made in making the game seem more real-time while still being turn-based, although I'm happy enough with the old formula.
I'm all about getting the most out of games, so whenever I discover something very strange or push the limits, I upload them here:

"Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. Progress in our world will be progress to more pain."

The trailer is nothing but a cinematic. In-game assets, probably, and maybe even some in-game animations, but definitely not in any way indicative of the actual gameplay.

Well ****, apparently I need to finish off my final two achievements in the last installment.

So many good games coming. Such a huge backlog already. So little time. Argh.
