Well, i usually just switch 'em around in model view, though its probably not the best way to do it..

Switch them around in PCS2
Works about the same way as modelview, but saves the glowpoints, and can open high-poly models.
(textures -> select a texture -> go to the box on the right -> type in new texture -> it reload textures to see how it looks)

Idk if i myself would call that beam a subspace invertor.
Just from the screenshot it's beam glow is a subspace vortex, and the blast is subspace energy?
Subspace invertor because i guess some part of normal space gets displaced when subspace enters normal space.

I don't see the application of how it'd be a weapon even if am wrong about calling it a subspace invertor. It's subspace being harnessed in a much different manner. Since subspace is generally used for ftl, this idea reminds me of an ftl slingshot.

Try my JCD Majesty maps that are not from ASW, but are in the Sol: A History upgrade. The maps have been fixed and changed a bit since the release though.
