It goes beyond very unlikely, for a million reasons. FFS, how many times do we need to tell people to stop suggesting this?
Who would run it? Who would make the storyline decisions? You want to put it to a vote every time a storyline decision has to be made? Then everyonne would know the storyline, and so who would bother playing it? What about all the other projects people are working on? Most, if not all, of the best talent on the forum is already committed to other projects.
And then putting it to a game company... even worse. The SCP is strictly non commercial, as enforced by the initial source code release stipulations. Which means the only people who could sell it would be [V]. But then they'd need to compensate everyone who worked on it, including people like lightspeed, who've since disappeared, or people from the early days of the SCP who inserted some of the new sexps and features, and anyone who put anything into the media vps. How would you find all these people? How would you decide what to pay each person? Some will want more, some will want less.
It's an impossible idea. Make a campaign if you want. Make whatever you think FS3 should be. Get the best people you can get to help you with it. It can be your own, personal FS3. Just like TI is mine, BWO is Icefire's, MT is Styxx's, Lost Souls is Aldo's and so on and so on. But that's as good as it's going to get, unless you want to consider the SCP engine a sort of spiritual successor to FS2 in baseware terms. There will never be a universally accepted community made FS3. Ever.
You're obviously aware that FS3 is considered a topic we don't like to discuss. This is why. Because it's been brought up so many times, by so many people people that it gets annoying repeating these same basic problems over and over again. Now please. Enough. OK?
