I know its nowt to do with FS but has anyone here used DarkBASIC cos i've just bought it and am thinking of trying to make a space combat game.

I never really got a good look at DB but from what I remember it should have the capabilities to create a 3D space shooter. It is Basic though and it won't be as fast as C. The best advice I can give you is think small and keep expanding as you go along. A flight engine is a considerable bit of programming remember.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Good luck. Don't forget to look on the net for tutorials if you're running out of luck. And check back here for inspiration if you ever lose it.

Oh! I totally forgot, you totally need the starwars theme tune running all of the time you're working, if you don't have it download it or hum it or teach a pet to hum it.
It's got me through quite a few tasks that I'd considered giving up.
