Picked up a Canadian cop show called Flashpoint while I'm sick at home. Different from most; while it's about an ESU-type unit (hostage negotiation, SWAT, and bomb squad rolled into one) it's not really about the gunplay or the glamor. The first episode actually has about a half-episode denouement while one of the team snipers comes to terms with a shot he had to take. It also has a Law & Order Criminal Intent-type way of building to the incident the team is called in for; the crime doesn't just happen, you see it develop. You get to know people, both sides of the equation.
The other thing that I noticed about it at once is that Amy Jo Johnson is the team's only female member. For those of you who don't get what that means: Ranger Pink from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
