Only played Homeworld for a short while, so nothing really stands out for me in that regard.

If you haven't, you should play it until the end and finish it. Homeworld, and it's expansion pack Cataclysm, are both very, very good games.

New artillery frigate for Shadow Genesis - GTFg Atlas, replacement for glorious but outdated GTCv Reyena used as previous Atlas. Still awaits for LODs and debris, however I'm very proud of this model . Atlas is modelled by Moonred and mapped by Kobrar. More info and sceenshots on Sectorgame.

The tiling on both is still pretty horrible. Whoever did this one for you needs to take some more time to tile well if they're gonna tile.

I also like the Reyena, but this community needs new designs. Reyena is a bit like Stratcomm Ships - overused. And a Reyena is outdated as hell. To be honest, I like tilemapping. In my opinion, tilemapping can look as good as single uv, depends on mapper. HTL Hecate is an example of good tilemapping.

And I must admit, my screenshots sometimes are too dark. This model has a lot of nice details, but they're hard to see with my settings. My bad. Screenshots with different light are on Sectorgame [but with old, ugly textures].

Overused, what? I haven't seen a single released campaign with it and I've played a good deal of campaigns.
59 campaigns not counting Retail, Port / ST:R if I'm not mistaken.
Then it's 64 but the Reyena not being in the campaigns I've excluded is a given.

Either way I think it should be kept so it'll actually be used in a live campaign.

Really now? How come there's never been a single tilemapped ship that has looked half as good as almost any uvmapped ship? And even if you COULD do that, it'd be a **** load more inefficient than tilemapping already is, which uvmapping has it beat either way.

It may be in need of new designs, but not new Terran Brick****s. We need more new Shivan and Vasudan designs. There are half a billion cool Terran ships that never see the light of day. It also needs more unique looking designs...none of this boring extruded rectangular box stuff, that's plain boring. The Orion did that way back in FS1, and nothing's beat it at that since.

The Reyena has never been featured in a completed campaign. Sure, it may have been in a lot of them that had died, so?

How is it outdated as hell, it's still decently high-poly, it's definitely not more outdated than 90% of the Shivan ships out there that everyone doesn't seem to give half a damn about.

And no, Tilemapping never looks as good as a good UV map.
