Could you implement the 4K mod into WCS then? You're right, the readability is fine as it is. It just looks very pixelated. So if there's the option to have a better resolution on the HUD, I'd say go for it.

running into a showstopper crash where the game won't load the mission after destroying Stalker in the Torgo system. tried verifying in Knossos and it says nothing is wrong. is this a known bug? is there a debug log i can upload?

As discussed on discord, this item is now fixed and pushed to Knossos in version 0.961

I just tried this with the VR options enabled, and it was INCREDIBLE looking all around the inside of my carrier at the start of the mission!  The sense of scale is AWESOME! 

But.... the HUD is invisible!  :(

This might be a bit late, not entirely sure if this allowed in this forum. So feel free to delete it if it's not.

The issues with the missing hud is fixable by editing the hud_gauges.tbl file in your mod folder. It's editable with any notepad like program, in order to get them to work in VR you need to change the max resolution of the hud to be equal to the resolution your headset. There's a line that contains  $Max: (your res,your res ). You need to change this for each individual cockpit.

Just thought to mention it as I had a lot of fun playing trough the game in VR
