Man, I've been away too much recently. Having just gotten engaged and with the holiday season upon us, I've just been going to family stuff day after day. Good to be back though - you guys did a good job staying civil over at AV. I'm glad that's pretty much passed us by.
Michelle and I have finally worked out stuff with our parents and so we've set the date for our wedding next year. 25/11 (or 11/25 for the U.S. folks) it is. You're all welcome to come along to the wedding. My house has... ummm... some extra space. ;) If anyone's seriously thinking of visiting, just let me know.
-
If you're planning to have it in Sydney, and it's anywhere near Balmain, i'd be glad to show up and grace your buffet with my presence. I mean, how can I turn down the prospect of free food! :D
-
I'll come dressed as a scale replica of the Aquitaine, and no one will be the wiser.
:drevil: :drevil:
Er, cheers on you future marriage.
...try to work the words "Your posturing insults us both, Vaudan" into your vows.
-
Hmm...
-
I've never been to Australia, so it would be an experience in itself. The trip would cost money though which I don't have...
Ed, congrats again. :)
-
That would be perfect :D
Except for the fact that it's right before finals. :( And it costs a bundle of money to go to Australia. :(
Preliminary 'Best of Luck'
-
That's the day before my Birthday, and traditionally very nearly the final day of Uni exams. So I'll still be over this side of the island I'm afraid. Congrats though.
-
edit:Bollcoks - I'm not thinking straight
Good stuff Steaky.
-
i sence a great deal more premarital sex in my future :D i just got a new g/f :D :pimp:

you have a choice, go in the summer and roast half to death, or go in the winter, and either get soaked, or pummeled with icy golfballs/hailstones (for sydney anyways) :p
-
heeeeey nice!
Let me get back to you on that. i may end up taking you up on the offer closer to the time. i can see myself needing a break around mid November 2006 :D :D :D
-
November 2005? Darn. My finals are then...my nearest holidays comes up in December, sadly :(
Have a nice wedding, though :)
-
;)
Congrets, good luck my friend ;7
-
*marks the day to the calendar*
Let's see how things go.
-
I wonder how many people here will start going to church just to get a girlfriend.

We have internet, who needs a girlfriend? :nervous:

That's a shame BW, here in NSW the exams tend to finish three or four weeks before the date I set (quite deliberately - I have to finish my own exams before getting married!). I hear Melbourne finishes even earlier. Sorry about that. There was quite a bit of debate about what date to set in the end, actually - my future in-laws wanted to go for a two-year long engagement rather than a one-year engagement. Boy am I glad it's going to be the latter. :)
Anyway, I better start cleaning up the house and working out how many people I can fit in here. :D

Gatecrash the honeymoon then :)
-
Yessss.... I will find my way there and have Australian-style Fun™. ;7
-
Hmmm, it'll be my final year of uni so I don't know, I guess I might be able to go for a week without being too far behind. Depends on cashflow too I guess.
-
I won't be able to get to Australia... starting college next year and all. Be sure to post pics though, Steak! :D
-
I seriously doubt I can go. Flying outside of this country is quite expensive considering the amount I make. Plus I am saving up for.......other objectives. Sorry.
-
I keep telling you that you'll never save up enough for world domination on a teachers pay but will you listen....
:p
-
Two things:
- What's the legal drinking age in Australia?
- Did you decide on this date because you were sat around on Christmas Day, thought you should set a date, thought 'a year' sounded about right, then remembered that'd put it on Christmas Day, so moved it forward a month?
-
Legal drinking at 18 (unless the evil, cockless ponces in WA parliament get their way and bump it to 21 - but that'll never happen).
-
/me has a birthday on November 24
/me is now 17
:drevil:
-
/me hopes that Setekh & Co. decide to move the day to 23 November. That would be quite funny. And i would laugh.
Anyways, congrats to Setekh and best of luck.
E: Sethek -> Setekh
-
/me hopes Rott3 learns to spell Setekh's name properly. ;)
-
"E-D-D-I-E"?
-
Probably "Edward", actually, but I should have said "username". :p
-
U-S-E-R-N.....

:p
Haha. I don't need to save enough money when the children of this country are in the palm of my hand. Mwhahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!
:D
-
I could make a joke, but I think you can all fill in the blanks by yourself....
-
I keep telling you that you'll never save up enough for world domination on a teachers pay but will you listen....
:p
Yeah yeah, okay. :p Actually, thanks to our kick-arse unions, teachers just got a pay rise. I'll be looking at a fairly tidy salary of AUD$50000 (just over USD$36000) per year as soon as I graduate. Plus guaranteed raises every year. Which is more than most IT and commerce graduates...

1. 18.
2. Actually, this was the product of our discussing it over with Michelle's parents. I didn't want it in the middle of the year (had uni stuff to worry about, and this way I can take an awesome honeymoon and look after my new wife while I've got holidays), and then the question was whether they would let us marry in one year or two. Eventually the former option prevailed, and November 25 came out. Funnily enough, nothing to do with Christmas... though we will be taking advantage of the post-Christmas sales to stock up our new home. :)
-
'Let' you marry?
That's ****ing weak.
Oh, wait. I get it. You're making them pay for it, aren't ya?

Money for us not so fortunate teachers? :p

Is that private or state? You're going to be on a better starting salary than I am... Bastard. :p
-
so when are you going to break up and are you going to throw a party then too
-
Oh, wait. I get it. You're making them pay for it, aren't ya?
Yes and no. I mean, they're paying for a fair share of it, but by no means are they financing the whole thing. Really, it's more of a "I don't want the in-laws being a thorn in our side for the rest of our lives" thing.
Is that private or state? You're going to be on a better starting salary than I am... Bastard. :p
State; private is higher, how much so depending on the school. I know, it's kinda funny now; education is generally shunned by plenty of people I know because it's viewed as a non-professional vocation that doesn't make that money. Nuts to that, I say.

So, I'm bumping this thread, because the day of this thread will now begin in a little over an hour... so that means I have something like 12 hours till I tie the knot. :)
Won't be around for a little while. I would normally tell you all that I'll remember you in my time away, but I fully intend to forget all about you guys while I'm on my honeymoon. Don't take offense. :D
Talk to you all on the other side!
-
Congratulations. :)
-
Heh, enjoy your last few hours of Freedom, and then you have the rest of your life being complete ;)
See you on the Flipside :D
-
Have fun Steak - and remember, sex on the beach isn't as fun as it sounds...

Uhm...

Obviously he's referring to the 17th month Novembre in the Hebrew calender, and not the 11th month November in the Christian calendar.
-
Enjoy married life.......

I read the first half a page and replied I didnt think it was a year old thread.... $%*(#)!

Well, Setekh revived it because the marraige was about a week away [from when he revived it], he first posted it when he got engaged :D
Either way, hope he's having a great Honeymoon, though I doubt he'll be drinking much Mead ;)
And if anyone is wondering what I'm on about, look up the meaning of the word 'Honeymoon'

Yeah. Obviously not.
