Whoa...
-
Well now...
-
There will be both Direct X 10 and Direct X 9 versions of Crysis.
Looks like a Shivan at the end there...
-
Here is some actual gameplay (http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=10473&type=mov&pl=game)

And i thought F.E.A.R. looked good, this real looks awsome.
I am glad i did buy a new pc, especialy the Radeon X1900XT 512.....fear was awsome though and prety scarry:D
-
you're going to need a 7800 or x1800 to really play this game.
-
You reckon? Far Cry was always pretty good at running full detail on an average system... that said this has come a long way since Far Cry...
-
I ran both FEAR and Far Cray at medium settings on my old rig - Athlon 1900+, 1GB DDR and GForce 4 ti 4200i.
We'll see jsut how optimized this thing will turn out to be.
-
You ran FEAR in medium settings with a GForce 4?
:wtf:
-
How did you manage to run FEAR with a GF4? I tried and it said I needed a DX9 card.
-
how hte hell should I know? It just ran - 800x600 resolution, medium details and it ran perfectly..never slowed down.
-
The graphics look hot, but I'm not digging the whole, "okay, so you can be super strong and punch everything down... now lets go kick some @ss."
Just seems, you know, retarded.
-
*drools*
as for the shivan looking thing... our shivan is a tripod. that looked helluva lot like a quadruped thingie...
-
I'm somehow reminded of Battlefield 2142.
-

Let me guess - Geforce 4 MX440? Right?
That's a crooked card....basicly a Geforce 2.
-

I played FarCry with medium settings with 1 GHz Sempron and a Radeon 9250. And pretty much full settings when I overclocked to 1,3 GHz. FEAR worked fine on medium once I overcloked to 1,6 GHz. :D Though some effects might be missing coz teh Radoen doesn't know how to draw them...
I've been wondering should I try to squeeze full 2 GHz out of the processor, but reason has overcome that desire. Thus far. :nervous:
-
I'll be impressed when it shows evidence of a story.
-
Graphics look awesome, sweet, drool-inducing, out-of-this-world, [Insert more adjectives], but the gameplay looks boring

Gee, who'd have thought it? Gorgeous game with derivative gameplay? Never!! :D
-
Saves up even MORE money for the inevitable SSLLII quad-linked Geforce cards required to run that thing..........

Anyone here read the Scratchware Manifesto?

It sure looks as pretty as a just born piggy. The weapon customization on the fly also looks interesting, wonder how much time the player has for such an operation during the real game.

Uh...Yes, I know there's a wikipedia article about SW. But what was the purpose of saying that when I obviously already knew about it, since I asked?
Sorry, I'm just confused by what you mean.
-
Lol, i hadn't heard of it, so i thought some others may not have. Link posted for courtesy.
:)

I'm thinking the player will adopt the play style "Save the game. Play through a section. Reload and customise for easier success".
That and... how many of us will really use the fists of fury™ option during normal game play? I find up close combat to be tedious and not nearly as satisfying as blowing an enemy to mush with a high calibre rifle.
-
If i think about it the only time i enjoyed Close Combat in an FPS (including the crowbar from HL) was the berserk mode in Doom 1/2.
Hitman wins every time but its not an FPS so :D

I've heard Condemned: Criminal Origins is rather good in that regard, hoping to pick it up myself as a matter of fact.
-
I fired mor erounds in real life than you get to in condemned, That ames all about hed-fux and using manakins arms/2x4's and metal pipes. Good clean fun :D
-
Close combat in F.E.A.R was useful for silent takedowns, when your gun was reloading or when you ran out of ammo. Or just for the hell of it and slomo goodness. :p

Most likely, yes.
-
Halo has the best CQC in any FPS where guns are the main focus. Riddick and Condemned have the best period.
-
i hope EA doesnt rush crysis. this game has some good potential. hopefully it'll be alot like farcry without being a copy. knowing EA, the best they can do is a copy...
:(

What? You have one attack; whack 'em. Personally, I always loved Goldeneye007/Perfect Dark's style of melee, where you could disarm 'em and shoot 'em with their own weapon.
Plus, it looked funny as hell to see someone following you around trying to karate-chop you. :)
-
Well, I was strictly speaking about how it felt. Some games CQC attacks don't have weight behind them if you know what I mean.
-
I remember the Call of Duty gun-smacks being rather ace, particularly in multiplayer. Truly satisfying to run into someone, and suddely react by going *thwock* with the butt of an M-1. Albeit I'm not very good, so that was rare :D

I loved slomo lol, i used it allot with the shotgun while running towards the enemy and doding there fire whiel i popped a head a arm or just blew them into 1000 pieces:D

In United Offensive there's nothing quite as satisfying as hitting someone in the head with the binoculars. Instead of the bash kill symbol appearing between your screen name and that of the victim, it would just read "OWNED" in little white letters. :D
