That and... how many of us will really use the fists of fury™ option during normal game play? I find up close combat to be tedious and not nearly as satisfying as blowing an enemy to mush with a high calibre rifle.

If i think about it the only time i enjoyed Close Combat in an FPS (including the crowbar from HL) was the berserk mode in Doom 1/2.

Hitman wins every time but its not an FPS so

I've heard Condemned: Criminal Origins is rather good in that regard, hoping to pick it up myself as a matter of fact.

I fired mor erounds in real life than you get to in condemned, That ames all about hed-fux and using manakins  arms/2x4's and metal pipes. Good clean fun

Close combat in F.E.A.R was useful for silent takedowns, when your gun was reloading or when you ran out of ammo. Or just for the hell of it and slomo goodness.

Halo has the best CQC in any FPS where guns are the main focus. Riddick and Condemned have the best period.

i hope EA doesnt rush crysis.  this game has some good potential.  hopefully it'll be like farcry without being a copy.  knowing EA, the best they can do is a copy...

What? You have one attack; whack 'em. Personally, I always loved Goldeneye007/Perfect Dark's style of melee, where you could disarm 'em and shoot 'em with their own weapon.

Plus, it looked funny as hell to see someone following you around trying to karate-chop you.

Well, I was strictly speaking about how it felt. Some games CQC attacks don't have weight behind them if you know what I mean.
