Title: DS Friends codes
Post by: aldo_14 on June 30, 2006, 04:39:49 am
(hey, could we have a sticky topic for this please?)

Mario Kart DS; 274-951-352-405
Animal Crossing; 1589-8723-6066 ; name: Aldo; town; Digby

:)

(DS Lite is a fantastic toy, BTW.  I'm not all that keen on handhelds usually, but it's just so unique thanks to the dual screen + stylus - things like Advance Wars DS are a delight to play with)

Friend codes suck. Nintendo needs to fix their online system. After that and making the web browser include flash and sound, the DS would be completely awesome. Except when it tries to do 3d. Developers should just stick to 2d games plz, kthnxs.

DS 3d is ****ing excellent, frankly.  Mario Kart, Metroid and Animal Crossing all look absolutely gorgeous and play brilliantly.

The friends code system... it is a pain, but it also generally removes the sort of petty racism and swearing that 'open' multiplayer exposes people to.  It is possible to play open games against random opponents, of course.

It doesn't completely remove the swearing and stuff, after all some games support a voicechat (I know Prime Hunters does (Between friends and rivals), don't know about others.)

You should be clearer in future, then.  Lots of things have **** 3rd party developers, it doesn't matter one jot as to the hardware.

I have Prime Hunters and I'm planning on picking up Mario Kart in the next week or so, I'll put my friend ID up too.

How the hell do you find out your own code in MP:H, anyways?  I'm baffled by it.

Yes (I think so)

Offhand; Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing (the gaming equivalent of a nice cup of tea), Advance Wars DS (great TTS), Brain Training (it's sums, yet fun!).   Popularity, mind.  It kind of depends how much you like the interface I guess; stuff using the stylus primarily is probably a matter of taste / comfort, and you're always best looking at loadsa reviews and trying a loan of one.

There's a version of Opera under development (I think with Java but not flash support...or is it the other way round?).  No word on release outside of Japan AFAIK.  Plus there is some media stuff due from 3rd parties too, to play movies and mp3s.

Metroid Prime Hunters is 3rd party you fool, and it's the best looking 3D DS game by far.

Everyone needs to get Phoenix Wright, Kirby and Animal Crossing. That's all you'll need until Diamond/Pearl come out.

DS games look similar to SD memory cards. Seems like they could easily find a way to get mp3 capability into one. @Aldo: I'm not sure how to find my friend ID in MPH, so I was going to check in MarioKart. :) Also, New Super Mario Bros. is one of the latest and greatest games to come out for the DS. The multiplayer minigame function is by far one of the most fun I've every played.
