Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. Over.

Lol...semi-socialist Western European countries are so funny...
-
I've heard brits say countless times that the police in their country was a joke, but I never thought it was that bad. :eek2:
-
What makes me laugh is the Inspectors' comment of...
"We must first consider the safety of the public at large, the time of day, number of people around, are there any pedestrians or young children playing nearby?" he said.
Especially when you consider this..
He was woken in the early hours by the sound of its engine and peered out to see the youths riding up and down the street on his £1,200 Gilera moped.
So, apparently, even in the early hours of the morning, there are pedestrians about and children playing? Well, the second one was true, there were children playing with his moped.
-
Too bad, that could have made the best court case ever.
"Yeah, I'm suing because I stole his moped, then that officer chased me, causing me to fall off and get a concussion because I wasn't wearing a helmet."
-
And that's totally beside the fact it's supposedly a criminal offence to ride a motorbike without a lid in the first place.
-

We're not semi-socialist..........
-
Fully, then.
-
Hah! Chance would be a fine thing, don't let our national parties Red symbolism fool you, they are conservatives to the core.
-
Sorry but this is ****ing ridiculous. If they fall off the bike and die it's their own problem. I can understand why they might back off during busy period of the day but this sort of crap is the reason why these bastards think they can get away with this sort of ****.
-
Hug a Hoodie? Give the joyriders some petrol or something?
Heaven forbid we actually kick the **** out of the criminals...
-
Thing is, it's not the Police's fault, it's the stupid shield our lawmakers have put around criminals that more or less allows them to carry out their actions without fear of violent retribution. Odd really, considering the laws that are supposed to stop criminals being violent to innocent people are not as stringently enforced as the ones about victims not being violent to criminals.
-
That's a plain brainfart that is. :wtf:
This is why sometimes, vigilante action is the only way to achieve justice. He should of caught the little bastards and placed them under citizens arrest and waited for the cops to arrive.

Quite true, it's just them covering their arses in a not-so-subtle fashion. There was an 'incident' not too long ago in Sydney where the police were chasing these dumb-ass joyriders as they had done countless times [bad neighbourhood], the joyriders take a wrong turn and miss their usual getaway route, crash, one of them gets killed, and suddenly half the f***ing city is crying bloody murder and blaming the police! An innocent kid getting impaled in a car-chase is one thing [happened shortly before this one], but blaming the police because some retarded joy-rider finally gets his comupance for acting like a ****wit?! Aaaaugh!! *Brain implodes*
-
The gene pool needs more chlorine. Especially, it would appear, in the courts. If someone breaks the law, they should no longer be under its protection.
Yes, I'm looking forward to the day when I'm legally allowed to defend my property with a .50cal machine gun, not to mention boobytraps.

Petrol and a match?
I can understand the logic for not chasing joyriders when it's a nicked Impreza that'd probably just spin off the road into someones house (just get a chopper on them, or hang back until they stop, wherever possible), but a scooter........ daft.
-
Right now, I'm laughing at you brits on the outside. Laughing so hard...
But on the inside, I weep tears of sadness and frustration at this lunacy.
-
On the other hand, police probably has other things to do than chase little kids with mopeds.
I wonder why is it so difficult to make these vehicles harder to steal.

If a bunch of neds twat you over the head and nick your keys, there's probably not much you can do to stop it.
-
They wouldn't dare :P
I think in that case it would be a bit more severe, planned criminal act. Aren't these a minority among all the cases anyway?
-
@Aldo, whats a Ned?
Most geezers round my manor have peds, And to be honest if the police were that stupid when i was a nipper i would have taken a totally different path in life..........Still it makes me laugh to think should i ever again get tempted by the darkER side of life (i'm shades of grey already) then it will be pretty much a cakewalk.
-
A ned is what you English might call a chav, except with slightly less dodgy origins for the name.
-
@Aldo, whats a Chav?
-
I thought you were English?
CHAV = Council House And Vulgar,
Ned = *hazards to think but suggests Needs Extra Discipline?*

Chav ^^
-
Um.
Chav, actually originates from the gypsy word 'chavo', meaning little man (although it's had other meanings ascribed to it since attaining popular usage, such as relating to Chatham etc); that's why I don't like the word, when you get the sort of 'chav scum' type sentiments, I'm always brought to mind of the Nazis using similar language towards (amongst others) romany gypsies (having learn of its origins).
Ned, although backronymed to mean 'Non Educated Delinquient', originates from the 'Teddy boy' (rocker) gangs of the 50s, and I would guess also references the old-style 'razor' gangs as well.
No, i'm not english. I'm from the cold-but-nice place that borders it on the north.
@Aldo, whats a Chav?
Essentially... usually lower-class (i.e. poor, from socially deprived areas, with little educational or future prospects), aged around 14-20 (roughly), like to wear things like kappa tracksuits, burberry caps, and fake gold jewellry, tend to hang about on the streets drinking cheap highly alcoholic bevvy (buckfast, MD20/20, etc), usually are regarded as being quite rude/intimidating/loutish and having taste inverse to the amount they shout about, and big fans of Vauxhaull Novas with fake added exhausts, superfluous spoilers, hilarious big engine grills, and black tinted windows.
-
This is a small country Aldo. It's getting very crowded. It was nicer to live here when it was less crowded.
My feelings put into words exactly.
We should just ship em to jockanese lands and then build a new wall....
I would love that, very much.
The fact all teh scum sent to scotland (JOCKanese) lands threw me thats all. I honestly thought were were one of my lot.
No matter *has an image of Also in a kilt now*
I got romany history in my family, I always thought the media coined the CHAV phrase from new to be honest but we are veering off topic here.
NED + Teddy boy,It works i s'pose.

The fact that you equated 'scum' to 'immigrant' just up there says it all, for me.
-
Nah, just all the immigrant scum, hard working people brining a skill to the UK are A-Ok with me.

Funny, I always assumed it derived from a shortening of skinhead :D

no, I don't think we've ever had a skinhead problem, my recollection is that our social ills tend to be sectarian rather than racist in nature.
-
Not saying you're wrong. Just where I'd assumed it came from :)
