Dammit! why did they let Bosch escape! Command, what the hell is going on here?!? WHY THE HECK DID YOU SEND SOC OPERATIVES, DISQUISED AS NTF SABATUERS, TO DEACTIVATE THE COLLYS BEAMS!?!?!?!??!?!?!??! WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DOES ANYONE KNOW?!?!?!?
Caps are bad - Flipside :p
-
They either:
Wanted ETAK.
or:
It is a super conspiracy... Someone really high up in the GTVA ranks is setting all us Terrans and Vasudans up for a 'renaissance' that will change the way we live, function and even think... In which the individual is nothing more than a projection of this doctrine and theory... In which life, as we know it, will not exist: in its place there will only be THE PARTY.
(I've been reading way too much Nineteen-Eighty Four. Damn reviews)
-
Command is stupid. You should know this. Also, i am your irrefutable lord, for I am the mother****ing TYRANT! :D :mad2:
-
oh duh.....
-
Overconfident command wanted to let Bosch complete ETAK project to capture it later (which they've done through whole campaign, like in M3, where they simply let Bosch escape to Sirius), but they underestimated Bosch's genious.
-
Ever tried making a campaign in which you fight the GTVA over freedom and whatnot? In which some really important officer in the GTA/GTVA orchestrated the Great War, GTI's rebellion, the NTF's rebellion, the HoL, the SGW, all to learn about Shivan technology or something?
-
It's called Blackwater Operations :p
-
c'mon! we all know command is stupid...
*escort is destroyed*
command: the escort has been destroyed! this mission is a failure
*all hostile targets disapear with the help of ~+K*
command: good job, pilots! mission succsessful! return to base!
i guess its on topic...sice the topic is about the stupidity of command.
-
It isn't command who's stupid it's the mission designer.

Mission designers should account for cheating?
-
OK. Then it's not the MD but the player being an idiot.

Oh, dear god.
-
Well would you like command to say, "Alpha 1 is GOD! Did you see him wipe all of them out with three keys?!"
-
Well would you like command to say, "Alpha 1 is GOD! Did you see him wipe all of them out with three keys?!"
Two keys, actually.
I would actually like to see that happen once... maybe in JAD3?

written on alpha 1's ship:
I ~+K'ed the sathanas fleet
-
I think that Command should of said that they wanted to capture the Iceni and ETAK instead of 'designing' all these 'mistakes' they made up. (Which weren't exactly disguised well; "Command let Bosch escape!")

I guess, if you're using Auto-Targetting...
-
Yeah basically I use autotargeting... it doesn't help when I lose sensors, though... then its just try to survive long enough to call a support ship.
-
*Ignores all previous posts but the first one*
Um...
a) There is absolutely no canon evidence to suggest the saboteurs on the Colossus were SOC operatives
b) (not based on canon evidence, just intuition) I'm sure there was someone higher up than "command" in the chain deciding campaigns to take on and stuff. Command just gives orders to ships based on the decisions of his superiors.
And furthermore:
c'mon! we all know command is stupid...
*escort is destroyed*

*all hostile targets disapear with the help of ~+K*

Agreed.

By removing that background bitmap from the missions ;)

found it on the wiki http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/The_NTF_Rebellion

NTF Iceni, NTC Alexandria, and NTT Grall escape to the nebula. SOC operatives, posing as NTF saboteurs, deactivate the beam cannons on the Colossus to allow the Iceni to escape.

Dude. That's not canon. It wasn't revealed in the main FS2 storyline.
-
I am removing that RIGHT NOW!
-
Punctuation error in title. Exclamation points should be question marks.

That entire page is non canon... IDK why the giant red banner at the top isn't enough to explain that
-
Yes, but in case you hadn't noticed, someone was citing the information it contains, and when told it was not canon, presented it as proof that it was canon. Good work, team.

Which leads back to my original question

Argh... I really hate those timelines. People reference them too much, they should be hidden down deep somewhere, replaced with ones based on FULLY-CANON ones or something (keep the Unification War timeline, the TVW timeline and the Post-Capella timeline since there's no real canon evidence to those really).

I agree with you... but there's much dissent about this in the wiki forum... I'm not sure if a final solution will be readily available.

Unless you are screaming or yelling.
-
uh oh... You know where this is headed... post-capella stuff from HLP being considered pseudo-canon. Actual canon is the next step... and I'm forbidden to mention what may come next.

Oh God. DON'T let that happen. I really don't want it to come down to this, but if new members or browsers happen to go over the Wiki and think that the information there is canon, then I say we may have to either delete the info or move it to another 'split' wiki (though this may just complicate matters).
Didn't this almost happen, when someone went and said that Inferno was canon?
-

Yes, I do distinctly remember that. Don't remember who though...
-
Didn't think his name was released so that he wouldn't be flamed or something.
-
I would have thought they would have concluded that whole conspiracy before the end of freespace 2 rather than carry it onto freespace 3
-
FS --- 3 was probably supposed the conclusion to the series, not FS2 (or did :v: already know they wouldn't be able to make an FS3?).
-
I would have thought they would have concluded that whole conspiracy before the end of freespace 2 rather than carry it onto --------------
THOU SHALT NOT MENTION F - S - 3 !!!
-
I loev how the read highlight is in 12 pt font, but the text is in like 32 or something
-
YARR
That's what the numbers are for.

nice... just, nice
-
THOU SHALT NOT MENTION F - S - 3 !!!
That better?
-
People shouting 'don't say fs3' is ten times more annoying than 'fs3' itself.

Ah, fellow Firefox user... on IE, it looks ok.
I was going to do a beamed message, but I was too tired to figure it out..
