I've seen some of the better ones.

EDIT: Where did the render of the Vasudan tanking the Terran, or the two Thoths flying past a Typhon, or the Shivan beating up a Thoth or the Vasudan eating headz come from in the Boulevard of Broken Dreams video?

Y'know, if we all began posting links to YouTube FS vids that we've seen, then we might all be able to see them all.  *shrugs*  It's an idea, anyways...

My personal favorite would be blackhole's Descent tribute (the latter half of which is all about Freespace): http://youtube.com/watch?v=B9pAuQotEro (http://youtube.com/watch?v=B9pAuQotEro).

I also like this one (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5379783594618935002&q=Freespace+Requim&total=1&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0) on Google Video... even if the editing isn't stellar, IMO it is still a good video. (It would be a lot easier to find if he had spelled "Requiem" correctly...)

You're like a friend I have. He doesn't watch YouTube, but he has downloaded 40-50 gbs of animé. I don't like animé

Does animé have an accent?

Anime is alright, but some of their action sequences are lame.  They don't have good animation, so they just put a background blur that's supposed to let you know that whoever it is is moving at a very incredible rate!  Did I mention I don't like motion debris?  Beyond stuff like that, some of the storylines seem interesting, if a bit impossible / improbable.  :p

I don't like anime much myself...other than Macross, Cowboy Bebop, and Outlaw Star, most everything else is the same characters in a mildly different setting. I.e. - the A) Rouge badass who always closes his eyes and looks down when he talks, the B) total pussy who is thrust into this situation where he has to fight and is totally afraid of girls (usually gets nosebleeds when a hot girl does something mildly sexual to him, or C) the quiet emo boy with this amazing power that he can't control but has to learn to so that he can defeat X amount of bad guys to get to the big evil bad guy.

Anime is usually just the same story and characters recycled over and over, that's why I stopped watching it.

And to make this post on-topic - I like the Blackcherry FS2 video on Youtube :)

It depends on the anime, I liek a lot of it, but theres  a lot I can't stand, just like everything else in my life, I don't like everything, but I like a lot of it LOL

I meant an acute accent on the "e".

Anime has no accent.

Anyway, watch hellsing (not the new one) if you want to see a decent Anime.  Decent characters, and unlike most Animes, the english dubbing doesn't suck.  It was described to me as "Being with a harem of virgins, and after 13, they all just get up and ****ing leave."  I have to agree with that description.

Anyway, back on topic, are there any more unusual/comic videos like the headz one?

Macross & Bebop are indeed swell.. I'd add Vision of Escaflowne to that list...mbay Record of hte Lodoss War...Definately Rourin Kenshin (move).. Alltough there are others...just like everywhere else in life, one has to search trough a lot of trash to find something valubale...same rule applies here.

Alltough when you think about it every story has allready been told in a way. The trick is to tell it in a fesh or interesting way ;)

I remember the first time I got the Silent Threat (iso) disc... I am still used to all the little goodies placed by SIXAM on their discs... even now, every time I get a new game and am installing it, I look through the directories for little goodies. Haven't found that many in the past 4 years, however...

Movie wasn't as good, yes..

They couldn't cram all the awensomness of the series in a little over one hour...they tried, but butchered half the charachters and the story

Killer music and animation tough. Yoko Kanno ROCKS!!!!!!

If they tried to do something that big and awesome, they ought to have made the movie at least 3 hours long!

10 hours I'd say....they would be better off making a 3 movie bonanza (like LOTR) ;7

Ye GODS, I would kill for that!

10 hours might be nice, but who would sit though it all? I think it would be great for a 3+ movie bonanza!
Title: Re: Freespace on Youtube
Post by: jr2 on August 22, 2007, 01:50:46 am
I personally think they should have doubled the number of 3-hour movies they used in LOTR... that would be awesome... maybe overkill, but awesome nonetheless.  Heck, Tolkien even split up the books for them!  (Each book has 2 or 3 books in it, if you look closely.)

I don't mean to bump, but I really have to say this.

You ****ing stole my work, you little ****. Those clips all come from my video, you just shortened some of them and changed the sequence. The Manticore chase is exactly the same!
