Wife Swap, the show that involves two families switching mothers to see how others live, is looking for outgoing families who are “actively preparing for December 21st, 2012.” Participants spend part of the week observing how the host family lives; the guest mother then introduces rules and activities that are important to her family. With the various beliefs people have about 2012, preparation could mean anything from stocking the fallout shelter and learning to live without electricity to meditating together and growing food. It will be interesting to see how primetime reality TV approaches 2012 and what impressions the families leave on each other as they clash or cooperate.

many people said that y2k bug will destroy civilized soceity and it didnt. i am not willing to face the already planned out future of 21st december 2012. what we need are some narn to go up the asteroid and shout at it to move :D or get the lucy in to vaporize it along with bin ladens terrorist HQ by just pure accident.
another soppy reality tv show for female 40 somethings, they should do something more worthwhile of course if it gets them famous then i cant imagine seeing the whole of the uk's married population who have offspring partake in such an adventure. hahaha good luck men!!

It has **** all to do with the Mican and Mayan calendar age ending at that date (which is actually quite an important one in astronomy), it's the people who are giving it significance that are the cultists. I think TrashMan is very aware of this.

So yes cult is a good term for them. As for what they do on that day. If I had my way it would be coming round to my new mansion to ask for their money back only to get the crap kicked out of them by security guards.

I not sure about what you said, have you ever met a mayan from a long time ago and asked him or her about this calender? so unless that is true, how would you know :P. additionally as i recalled mayans sacrificed many to their "gods" to keep the rain away or keep everyone in perfect health. so its not a too distant bet that its possible they believed this prophecy.
