Yet anything someone mentiones the BUTLERian Jihan I giggle. I get a mental image of butlers in those fine black suits kicking arse in style.
"Your bullet Sir."
"Sir, I got a mister Lucifer calling, saying you're late to your appointment in Hell."
Well, I find the main problem in doing the Dune universe, something I've thought about myself, tbh, is that you seldom see space warfare. As far as I understand it, interstellar travel is controlled by the Navigator Guild, and they basically have a complete monopoly on space travel. Although, I've never read the new books.
You know, I never read or saw anything from the Dune except the move and the short series.

In this books there is no Navigator Guild yet, and space travel is long in the order of days, months and in some cases years. In the book The Butlerian Jihad, the savant Holtzman invents the Holtzman shielding tecnology, giving shields to their fleet. It is complicated to explain in few words, i recomend to read the books. What are they're titles? I've heard of the Holtzman shielding, probably from the blurb on the back of one of the novels. I'll go grab the books and read them and think about it.

Remember, the slowlaserblow penetrates the shield....
Sorry :nervous:
In Dune, the intersection of a laser and a shield causes "subatomic" explosion, annihilating both the attacker and defender. Thus reversion to h2h weapons and projectile weapons (maula pistols, etc).Which is also why, in Emperor: Dune, I always used Sardukar Elite to attack Ordos Armored units.
In Dune, the intersection of a laser and a shield causes "subatomic" explosion, annihilating both the attacker and defenderIn this books, that's a really big explosion.
Them's the lasers we needed against the Lucifer.

Whoa, i must buy Dune books now. I saw the film. But at the time i was a miniscule minor. And the books looked TOO long..
Now i'm enlightened  might give em a go.
Them's the lasers we needed against the Lucifer. :nod:Laser weapons are obsolete/useless in Legends of Dune, the destructive combination laser->shield is a secret that must not fall into enemy hands, because all of our ships have these shields. Something so simple like the laser can blow up one of our ships with a single shot... ohoh :nervous:
It's not the lasers that's the problem, it's the shield, as far as I know.
