Title: What's the most badass thing you've ever seen in a cartoon?

Cowboy Bebop the Movie - flight combat in the dome.

Rurouni Kenshin - fight between Saito and Kenshin at the dojou.

Transformers the Movie - Arise Rodimus Prime scene

Ghost in the Shell SAC - the scene where the armored suit is pounding the major to a pulp into the pavement, Saito shows up with the mounted gun, the major
yells to hand it over and she cocks and fires it repeatedly into the enemy with only one arm.

The starting episode first scene where the major tells the felon to zip his mouth shut, plug his ears, and go hide in a hole if he doesn't like it.

The death of the tachikomas to save Batou.

Dual parallel trouble adventure - final episode - zinv alone holds off the entire artifact battleship barrage, sucks an area a few hundred kilometer wide into a black hole

Tenchi muyo - OVA Ryoko's fight with Kagato / Tenchi's LHW release / TM Universe (TV) Ryoko's desperate space battle at the end, subsequent return on Earth.

Trigun - there's a bunch of baddass moments.

Read or Die TV - opening episode where they turn a broken jumbo jet into a dragon using paper, and land it.

Last Exile - final battle.

Crest of the Stars - Lafiel giving the Duke of Febdash the "Abh Hell" glare at dinner.

I dunno that's a start... I'll have to remember more classic anime.

Ah My Goddess the Movie - the sidecar racing scene - pure poetry in motion-animated... later scene as they walk through the gate.
May not rank as guns and explosions baddass... but if you can't count that as moving... you may need to check for a heart.

Eureka Seven - final battle just before holland rams into the super carrier, Ray and Charles death, variouis late series scenes.

FLCL - Um, where to begin...

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu - Sagura fights the Karate club - funny but still, relatively badass.

Yu Yu Hakusho - Genkai's fight / death

The bigger Soul Eater fights (finale included).

DBZ; Goku vs Freiza before he turns into goldielocks (I have no idea what episode, but basically Goku almost dies and then goes ballistic for a minute or so :P).
Goku vs Buu.

Bleach; Ichigos first bankai.
Ichigo vs Aizen (final fight).
Ichigo vs Kenpachi.
Ichigo vs ..forgot his name, but the Espada he fights last in hueco mundo.

Eden of the East; Without trying to spoil too much; "Who am I, the "Sundance Kid"?

Evangelion; Asuka vs The Eva Series
Shinji vs The Fourteenth Angel (Zereul, in the original anime).

I'm sure there's others I forgot, but I avoided mentioning any that had been mentioned already, otherwise some of these might not have been mentioned, I certainly agree with most of JGZinv's list.

I think it's bad ass the few kids cartoons that actually feature the good and bad guys using actual guns instead of that incredibly stupid laser gun crap common in kids cartoons of the 90's. Xmen the animated series, gargoyles, teenage mutant ninja turtles, etc were famous for the laser guns that don't have any hope of maiming (let alone killing). In the end it just made no sense why the good guys feared bad guys with laser guns.

Tvtropes (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FamilyFriendlyFirearms) covers this pretty good. What's awkward is that tailspin had bad guys with actual guns (hell, a bad guy in a boat racing through the water has a revolver in the intro).

Alas, no videos to be found. Those moments are ingeniously badass.

Cartoon intro sequences during the 90's had some real badass moments. I've always had a soft spot for the intro to the Iron Man saturday morning cartoon, namely because it depicts Tony Stark constructing the Iron Man suit with merely a hammer and anvil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xyDyDfOlHc). The Swat Kats had an awesome one, with a modified F-14 fighting a dinosaur to the strains of righteous power-metal (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_AdxJWFUh4). I ****ing love how insane the Megas XLR intro is (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDAPGLO-r4s), not to mention the show itself. Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars series has its detractors, but no one can deny Mace Windu is a bad mother ****er after he takes out an army of battle droids with his bare hands (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A07WNupEXk). Speaking of Genndy, Samurai Jack has innumerable moments of badass, the greatest of which is probably the loose adaptation of Frank Miller's 300 in Jack and the Spartans. One of the most badass animated things i've ever seen belongs to the Japanese opening for the X-Men Animated Series. While the regular intro is already pretty badass, with one of the coolest theme-songs of the 90's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZAhqEiq4cA), the Japanese intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfjAbXrvkFw) will literally explode your socks. For ****'s sake, it makes Jubilee look badass!

But, without a doubt, the most badass moment belongs unquestionably to the intro for the greatest cartoon ever made. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgnDdBygMmY)

dont think I have watched that since the early 90s and aged 6 to 8 ish, you would probably find me cringing into my seat if i was ever to watch it again lol

And the feature length episode of Dexter's laboratory, which has the ring from the intro of 'Syndicate', time travel and giant robots.

Amusingly enough I'm actually writing a story about a K-11 pilot.
