You do have to wonder if the Japanese thought that the gods were just ****ing with them at that point!

Either that or playing Populous multiplayer with real people.

Now it might just be a case of "The one time I didn't bring my camera, something happens." But in that case, this is a lousy piece of journalism since there is nothing in the article to that effect. It's a rather important detail to omit.
