What version of the mod (Stormfront went through several itterations, last one made changes how the mod is structured)?

Is it the in-game message that pops up after launching FS_Open?

It would help if you could produce a log made using Stormfront as the active mod. A log using BP will tell us absolutely nothing about what is wrong with Stormfront.

That does not look like Stormfront to me. You do need to actually start a debug build and run it to get a current log, not one from Wednesday, February 6th 2013.

I mean, sorry to say this, but this is one of the most basic troubleshooting steps in FSO. It is about time you learn it.

Luis, seriously. It's already been pointed out that the current thread log is not the one that shows Stormfront active, and debug kernel spew doesn't count as a log, so if you're not going to actually be helpful in a constructive manner, then go post somewhere else.

Well, I *think* I'm seeing things right, I could be going mad, however please take a GOOD look at his last "spew" comment and check a little attachment at the end. Yes, it's the correct log with the correct mod selected.

WouterSmits, I suspect you are trying to run the Stormfront campaign with Blue Planet as the active mod.

You should select Stormfront as the active mod if you want to play the Stormfront campaign.

You should select Stormfront as the active mod if you want to play the Stormfront campaign.

wouter: the problem is one of set-up. Files are not in the right places for it to find what it expects to find, or the mods age means there are errors in it that they did not see when it was built.

There is no simple "fix it" that the SCP can perform here, it comes down to: It either needs to be updated (Stormfront that is) in which case, talk to the Campaign Restoration Project, or there is something wrong with how you have it installed.

I am not an expert in code errors, but i would ask you some questions, some errors that sometimes happened to me.

1) Do you have the seven .vp files and the mod.ini in a same folder ?
2) Do you have the last launcher version?
3)The mod.ini seems fine.
4)Do you have your the Storm Front campaign folder in the a separate folder like Mods?. If that the case copy the folder in the root folder of Freespace 2. And re-select it from the launcher.

Also, not to be bad or something like that. But you can try the google traductor or other traductor. Maybe the guys that try to help you could understand better your technical problems.

OK, guys stop. You're just making it worse by guessing. On that note, it's pretty clear to me that no one bothered to download/check the Stormfront files to see exactly what VPs should be present or you might have noticed the following.

Wouter. Listen up, because this will be definitive. I am 100% certain the problem, and if you don't like the answer then you are on your own.

First of all, you have 'Found root pack 'F:\FreeSpace 2\StormFront_1+2\Artifice.vp' with a checksum of 0xd50af74d'. What is Artifice.vp and why is it in the Stormfront mod folder? I searched far and wide on the Stormfront website and could not find it. I suspect you installed this mod (http://home.comcast.net/~blueflames/SF2site/files/Artifice.zip) into your Stormfront folder accidentally. Please move it to it's own mod.

Now, as to the errors you are getting. Those are a problem with Stormfront itself, and not a problem with the SCP builds 3.6.14/.15/.16/.18. Stormfront was almost certainly made either pre-debug builds (or the general practice of using them during modding) or before those mod errors were flagged by FSO. I'm betting a mix of the two. Either way, the problem is with Stormfront.

Now, you asked how to fix the issues.

Any version of 'Weapon explosion 'SOME_STRING' does not have an LOD0 anim!' can be fixed, but you'll need to make the impact effect yourself because the original author did not include them. Alternatively, you can edit StormFront-wxp.tbm in StormFrontStock/SFS_core.vp and change any of those weapon impacts to one that exists. So, you could change 'Vepar_Impact' to 'Flail_Impact'. Of course that would make that weapon have the Flail's impact effect. That might look odd, but since they don't even have impact effects now.. who knows. Further information on editing the Weapon_expl.tbl can be found on the Wiki. (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Weapon_expl.tbl)

Now, the other error you listed is this 'Unable to find WEAPON_LIST_TYPE string "SOMEWEAPON" in ship: SOMESHIP..'. This means the original author did not correctly allow those weapons on those ships. To fix that you'll need to create a -shp.tbm with the correct entries for the Artemis D.H. and the Ulysses that puts those weapons in the allowed weapons sections. Information on what entries you need in the -shp.tbm can be found on the Wiki. (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Ships.tbl)

Finally, if you do not want to fix these issues yourself, you can ask a community member to help you or try to contact the original author of the StormFront campaign, because it's pretty much his fault.

To the rest of you... this took me less than 10 minutes to download the StormFront files to verify his install and write all this up... *le sigh*

One last thing: Wouter, if you don't play on a DEBUG build, then FSO will tell you that it found errors, but will try to work around them. Chances are, with these errors, you will not have problems with StormFront by doing that.
