Well, back then, I only commited for fs2_open, but that should auto append to fred2_open. right.

And since you need the /code directory with source to build code.lib in order to build FRED2_open, and that only comes with fs2_open, maybe it did not then.

and that would be why the limits never got bumped for fred2 when whoever made fred2_open3_2.exe, or maybe penguin rolled back fred2_open, buter never rolled back fs2_open.

that would also explain this.

anyway got some files ready, did a quick readme.
