does anyone know if it's possible to have a Flash SWF file as your background (desktop) of your computer?  I mean, without having to open it through your broswer, or an HTML file.  if anyone has Flash installed (Flash the standalone player, not the plugin) then please test it... the "Freespace Desktop" will be operational if it's possible to have an SWF file as a desktop without using an HTML file/broswer.

May I ask whats the problem with using the html file on active desktop?

the problem is that when an SWF file is opened through an HTML file some of the features of the SWF file are lost, such as FS COMMANDS, which make it possible to open files/folders.

i'm still working on a way to get the HTML document to acknowledge these commands, but up till now i doubt it's possible

you can use iFrames to call upon system resources, but it will spit warning messages saying that things are "unsafe".

Oh, and was it you I stole it from?  I didn't think it was your profile, because you're always "Offline" (i'm on your 'banned user' list) and i know at least 3 other people that have the same quote that they use (not necessarily in their AIM signiture, but in real life)...

nonetheless, if you think i copied it from your signiture then i'll remove it.  no problem.

i don't know DHTML, but i'm sure the same thing applies:  It doesn't let the SWF FS COMMANDs work

Oh, and mikhael, i would use the signiture anyway, but you don't want to get on vadar's bad side, because then he'll hack your HLP account, change your profile, edit/delete your posts, reset your password, etc.

i was being sarcastic... i'm supposed to be nice to him, but i never am, which is why my profile is always being screwed with, password reset, etc.

but what can i do!?  i would just leave, but if i leave not only does that make him think in his feeble mind that he's won and that i'm beaten, but also what will i do with all the campaigns i'm working on?  Leaving is not an option... it just gets kind of hard putting up with a 17 year old who acts like a 10 year old.

Just to add a note, none of you should worry about having your profile tampered with. Any legitimate problems will be dealt with by the HLP Staff, and anyone found hacking will be punished to the full extents of our powers here.
