Battlefield 1942 Sound Problems
Ok, I just installed BF1942 o my dads comp and we go to play and the sound is fu)(0red. Its static and crackled shiz so I was wondering if anyone could help.

Specs (to the best of my knowledge.. he's being a tard)

Creative sound lab audio 5.1 surround speakers
Windows XP
384(?) mb of RAM
Athlon 1400+
40GB hard drive blah blah blah

i would try harder to fix it, but research isn't my friend tonight. Any help is appreciated. Cookie to the one who fixes it.

You've not actually mentioned what sound card you have - considering the problem... it'd be a start :rolleyes:

As such, upgrade to the latest patch. If problem persists then try lowering the quality to medium, the chanels to 24 (leave hardware audio off) and see if that helps.

There are other fixes for specific cards but obviously, I don't know what you have.

Ok, well you're almost definitely going to see a performance increase by lowering the sound detail settings and channels like I said - but without more details he's going to have to cope with the crackles. Hey - can't say any of us here didn't try :)

Actually, we tried playing with the sound last night to no avail. :p
