Yes. The gunship variant is designated GVGs Satis.

Gunships IMO should be used mainly for anti-fighter roles, since they are generally not big enough to justify their own anticap beams. Besides, the convoys they protect are attacked by pirates, but pirates rarely have anything bigger than a cruiser (which can usually be taken out by fighters and the gunships).
It seems to me that it would be cheaper for GTVA to use Aeolus anyway and a type of 'light carrier' for convoy escorts
Wrong. The Aeolus was discontinued and the GTVA only had 2 dozen of them before the NTF fiasco happened. After Capella, I'd say the GTVA had 7 or 8 Aeoluses left, although this says little of the Aeoluses sold to entities other than the GTVA (pirates, mercs, and such). That's why I thought up the GTC Peleus class in the first place. Cheap, since it's made from Fenris parts, yet about as good as the Aeolus in combat.
Yet another reason to eagerly await Winds of Fate, and the other two campaigns in the Eden Project series.

As for "light carriers", the correct term is a
dropship, which is anything cruiser-to-corvette-sized (300m-800m long) which has a fighterbay. The Moloch falls into this category (it has a fighterbay), therefore I feel it should be redesignated the SDs Moloch instead of SCv.
